Lula Morehouse currently is employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs VA Healthcare Greater Los Angeles where she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW).  Lula has been employed for the VA Healthcare for 34 years and for the past 18 years she has worked at the Gardena Community Based Clinic as a Mental Health Clinic Social Worker.   Prior to taking on the role as the Senior Social Worker for the CBOC she worked for 15 years at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Clinic located in downtown Los Angeles where she  was a social worker in the Substance Abuse Programs and the HIV Clinic.  Lula also spent one year as a social worker on the inpatient medical  unit at WLA.  Lula was instrumental  in developing the Tele Mental Health Clinic for the Gardena CBOC which was the first in Mental Health for the  VA Greater Los Angeles.

Lula is a native  of Louisiana where she was raised both in Louisiana ( Tallulah) by her great grandparents and spent summers with her mother in Los Angeles. She is a 1980 graduate of Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana where she received her BA in Social Work and Minor in Criminal Justice.   Lula received a Master in Social Work in 1991 from California State University Long Beach where she was in the fourth graduating class to receive a master under the new program. 

Lula is a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and a member of the Los Angeles South Bay Alumnae Chapter.  She is a past chapter president for the Los Angeles South Bay Alumnae Chapter and served in many roles within the chapter.  She is currently the Chairperson for the Ways and Means Committee.  She is the Immediate Past Co-Chair of the National Heritage and Archives Committee for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Lula is also a member of the Lullaby Guild, an organization that  provide services to foster children in the Los Angeles area.  She is a former member of the  South Los Angeles Chapter of  Jack and Jill of America where she served as chapter president. She is also involved with the SoCal Grambling Alumni Association in Los Angeles.

Lula is the proud mother of twins, Andrew and Alexis who are both college students.  Andrew attends Morehouse College in Atlanta and Alexis is in her final year at El Camino College in Los Angeles.  Lula currently lives in Hawthorne, California .
